Good Judgment

In my experience, most biblical references to judgment concern our relationship with God, creation, and neighbor. They invite us to listen to a Word from God which allows us to see clearly, understand what is important, and live in the light of that Word. Good judgment is inward, personal, and it leads to joy.
Living in the clear light of God’s judgment we find wisdom and it’s partner, joy. Not happiness, but fullness grounded in faith’s wisdom. Not perfection, but surrender to God’s mercy.
We practice the presence of God as we seek mercy in our relationships.
Our Advent waiting, in Christ, is this practice of compassion. As we do so, we invoke the Presence of Christ. Joy is right here, and Peace.
